Terms & Conditions of Services

Please read these terms and conditions carefully before using Our Services.
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions ("Agreement") govern your use of the grooming services provided by Bear’s Barking Lot ("Company," "we," or "us"). By scheduling or receiving services from us, you ("Client," "you," or "your") acknowledge and agree to these terms. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use our services.
2. Services Offered
We provide a range of grooming services including but not limited to bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts, nail trimming, ear cleaning, de-shedding, de-matting, and flea/tick treatment.
We reserve the right to modify services or refuse certain treatments based on the pet's condition, behavior, or our professional judgment.
3. Appointments, Cancellations, and No-Shows
Appointments are scheduled in advance and are subject to availability.
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to the appointment. Failure to cancel within this time may result in 50% deposit fee for future appointments.
No-shows may require prepayment of 100% of the service fee for future bookings.
We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule appointments due to emergencies, staffing issues, or safety concerns.
4. Client Responsibilities and Disclosures
You agree to:
- Disclose any behavioural issues, allergies, injuries, or medical conditions prior to service.
- Ensure that your pet is up-to-date on all required vaccinations (proof may be requested).
- Understand that grooming can be stressful or pose minor risks to some pets.
- Indemnify and hold harmless, Bear’s Barking Lot from claims arising from the failure to disclose important health or behavioural information.
5. Pet Behavior and Safety Policy
Aggressive, fearful, or overly stressed pets may be refused service or may incur an additional handling fee.
If a pet becomes uncontrollable or aggressive, grooming may be stopped immediately for the safety of both pet and groomer. Partial service charges may still apply.
Use of muzzles, gentle restraints, or calming methods may be employed when necessary and humane.
6. Emergency Care Authorization
In the event of an injury, allergic reaction, or medical emergency during grooming, we will attempt to contact the client immediately. If unreachable, we are authorized to seek veterinary treatment at the client’s expense. We are not responsible for pre-existing conditions or natural responses to grooming.
7. Grooming Risks and Liability Waiver
Clients acknowledge that: De-matting, shaving, or skin conditions may result in irritation, cuts, or minor bleeding.
Certain procedures may uncover underlying issues such as hot spots or infections.
We are not liable for health issues arising after grooming if they were not caused by negligence.
All grooming is done at the pet owner's risk, especially for elderly, sick, or aggressive pets. Skin irritation may occur from new shampoos or first time grooming with unknown knowledge of skin allergies or irritation, we will learn and over come for next groom.
8. Payment Terms
Full payment is due at the time services are rendered.
Accepted methods include Cash Payment, Eftpos.
Outstanding balances must be cleared before future appointments are booked.
9. Late Pickup Policy
Pets must be picked up within 45 minutes of service completion. A late pickup fee of $15 may apply beyond that window.
10. Media and Marketing Consent
Unless otherwise stated in writing, you grant Bear’s Barking Lot permission to take and use photos or videos of your pet for promotional and marketing purposes, including social media and website use.
11. Pricing and estimates
Pricing is based on an average of dog breed or type with good coat condition. Owners must be aware that some pets may require extensive extra work, and this will attract surcharges for the extra time charged at $15 starting price.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Bear’s Barking Lot shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss or injury caused by delays, cancellations, or pet behavioral incidents.
13. Modifications to terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Continued use of our services after changes are made constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We recommend reviewing this Agreement regularly.
